UPDATE - From May 21st,2021,Towcester Racecourse will again be open to visitors. Luxury cabins to tents can be booked for holiday breaks.Music events will be arranged.Weddings and business meetings can be hosted.Food festivals and Craft fairs will also be arranged.The restaurant will reopen. Greyhound Racing also takes place at Towcester Racecourse ( Currently, Greyhound Racing is being held behind closed doors with plans to host Live Greyhound Racing as soon as Government Guidelines allow). Towcester Racecourse is situated in the east midlands area of England.

First thing to say about Towcester - it is free to get in - they only charge for tickets on busy days like Boxing Day - please just check before traveling if you only want free access.
The first meeting at Towcester took place in 1928 within the scenic estate of Lord Hesketh.
This track has one of the most brutal uphill finishes to the winning post,and many horses falter on this final race to the line.
The going at Towcester,due to soil and hilly location,can often be heavy and testing,which accentuates the stamina requirements of any horse.
Run in from last fence is just 200 yards,but exciting finishes abound as horses tire on final effort to reach the winning line.

The course is rectangular in shape and about 1 mile 3/4 in circumference.
The course is very stiff,but the actual fences (10 per circuit,and one water jump) are quite easy to negotiate and there are few fallers at Towcester
