Thirsk Racecourse is located in north Yorkshire,in the north of England.The track is oval with a small 10 furlongs circuit,and like most English tracks,left handed.
The round course is flat and a short 3 furlong run to the line off the bend.
Thirsk can host straight races for 5 and 6 furlongs,and this strip is slightly undulating.
Short run in,and slight dip in gradient about 1 furlong from the winning line,can unsettle some galloping types,and course winners should get extra scrutiny when betting at Thirsk.
Thirsk Racecourse 2 biggest races are The Classic Trial (April) and The Thirsk Hunt Cup (May).
All races over 6 furlongs will take in at least one bend,however the bends are level and quite easy for most horses to negotiate at speed
