Hamilton Park racecourse is located in Scotland,10 miles south of Glasgow.

It differs from most other U.K. racecourses as they race right handed here at Hamilton Park.

Hamilton Park is set in beautiful countryside,and considered by many as one of the most picturesque courses in U.K.

The track is pear shaped with slight undulations and a short uphill section of about 1 furlong to winning post.


Straight sprint races can be accommodated at Hamilton Park over 5 and six furlongs.

Course circuit of 1mile 5 furlongs with at least one bend to be negotiated in all races of 7 furlongs plus.

Fair track for most horses and no particular stamina or agility abilities required,but last uphill finish can catch out non stayers.

Draw bias - non really,but high numbers are favoured when the number of runners in a race is high.


Good catering facilities at Hamilton Park from fast food outlets to more substantial meals on offer to the racegoer.

Hamilton Park only host flat meetings and no National Hunt meetings are held here.

Racing in this area since 1782,but Hamilton Park is a later development and opened in 1926.


Hamilton Park hosted the first evening fixture in the U.K. in 1947.

Hamilton Park was also the first U.K. racetrack to hold a morning fixture in 1971.


This is a busy track,and they host about 18 meetings throughout the summer.

Some top names in show business have appeared here in after racing concerts,and these are held on a regular basis.

Some of the restaurants here are very popular and you need to book prior to raceday to get a reservation.

Children are always welcome at Hamilton Park and a play area for children is provided.


Disabled racegoers are well catered for at Hamilton Park - designated parking,lifts,toilet facilities and more - and carers get in for free.

Nearest rail station is Hamilton West,but racegoers need to get to Glasgow Central and then through to Hamilton West(1 mile to track).
