Brighton Racetrack is on the south east coast of England,and about 50 miles south of London.

Like most British tracks Brighton is a left handed racetrack.

Horseshoe shaped,1.5 mile in length ( one of only 3 British courses that are not a complete circle ),and undulating in nature.

   The winning post is the apex of hill with uphill finish of about 2 furlongs.


Draw bias - over the years,there does not appear to be any draw advantages at Brighton.

Run in at Brighton is about 3.5 furlongs.

Agile and balanced horses needed to handle undulations and bends - ideal for front runners.


All races,including 5 furlong races,will include at least one bend.

Undulating style here often compared to Epsom Racecourse,but despite having Derby trials (no longer run),no horse has gone on to win Derby.

To emphasise,this is a quirky track and punters should always pay special attention to horses who have won here before,as many horses will not run to their best at Brighton.

Students,senior citizens and disabled racegoers can all get a discount when going racing at Brighton.

Disabled visitors are made welcome at Brighton Racecourse and provided are parking areas,wheelchair access,and a dedicated disabled viewing platform - and if you go with a carer,they can get in for free.

Course is built on chalk,so going is rarely soft or heavy as it drains so quickly.

Horse racing has taken place on this site from 1783.

Brighton Racecourse is set in the Sussex Downs within picturesque countryside with panoramic views of Brighton and the English Channel beyond.
