It's best to just use examples and explain how the winnings are calculated.
Example - Win Double 2/1 and 9/4.
Simple example to start - many readers will quickly work out mentally that this double consists of £3 at 9/4 = £9.75.
By calculator you need to form new odds - but it is very simple!.
Always add the right hand number of fraction to the left hand number and retain the original number to the right.
You need to do this to both prices.
so,2/1 becomes 3/1 ( 1 added to 2 ) and 9/4 becomes 13/4 (4 added to 9).
So your equation is 3 × 13 ÷ 4 = £9.75.
As usual all winnings are worked out to £1 (or Euro,or any currency).
Just make your last entry on calculator the amount you have wagered.
So,maybe you have £5 double at 2/1 and 9/4.
Enter 3 × 13 ÷ by 4 (same as before) × 5 = £48.75.
More difficult double this time 13/8 and 15/8.
.....
Even experienced punters will struggle to work this out mentally - but calculator on your mobile or tablet will work it out quickly.
Same procedure - add right number to left number,to make new odds for your calculator.
So,13/8 becomes 21/8 and 15/8 becomes 23/8.
Just multiply them out like this .......21 ÷ by 8 × 23 ÷ by 8 = £7.55.
Maybe you have that double to unusual stake - lets say £4.75.
Just the same,but make last calculation × 4.75.
So,a £4.75 double at 13/8 and 15/8 has this equation...
21 ÷ 8 × 23 ÷ 8 × £4.75 = £35.85.
Thats a difficult double - and how long did it take - about 5 seconds for me,and the more you use this procedure the quicker you will get.
Last example - an odds on shot - this time 8/15 and 11/4.
Exactly the same procedures,it does not matter if prices are odds on ,it is same procedure.
So,a win double on 8/15 and 11/4 is.......................23 ÷ by 15 × 15 ÷ by 4 = £5.75.
Again,just multiply by your stake as the above will always give you winnings for £1 or other currencies single units.
