Tote Exacta Explanation.Non Runners,Perms,Combinations Exacta Bets.
The Tote Exacta replaced to old Tote Dual Forecast bet several years ago.The only difference is that the old Dual Forecast bet was the first two horses in any race in any order - the Tote Exacta bet is also the first two horse to finish in a race but this time - IN THE CORRECT ORDER.
This of course makes the bet harder to win,but it also boosts the dividends which makes it a more attractive bet for the average horse punter.
Bear in mind when betting the Exacta that big bets will diminish your own winnings! - all bets are pooled and payout is determined by winning units.For this reason the Exacta is for fun and small stakes.
However dividends can be very high,and for this reason betting in permutations with outsider combined with favourites is the best tactic when betting on the Exacta.
You can of course just do one straight bet,with the minimum bet of £2.
Perms or combinations can be done in units as low as 10p,just so long as total is £2 +.
Bets are accepted for any horse race in U.K. with 3 or more runners.
The Dividend for the Exacta is declared to a £1 unit.

2 selections reversed - 2 bets.
3 selections reversed - 6 bets.
4 selections reversed - 12 bets.
5 selections reversed - 20 bets.
You can work out the number of reversed forecasts within any number by multiplying the number of PAIRS by 2.
Non Runners in Exactas......
The Tote don't like repaying money to punters and often substitute any non runners with favourites in bets like Quadpots,Placepots and Scoop 6 bets.
However to be fair to horse punters,if you have a non runner in your straight Exacta bet or combination Exacta bet you do get that refund.
If you have a non runner in a single straight Exacta bet,then the bet is wholly void and you get all your bet cash refunded.
If you have a non runner in combination Exactas you only get cash refunded for parts of the bet that contains the non runner.
So,if you have 3 horse combination (which is 6 bets) with one non runner - you only have 2 surviving horses - i.e. 2 bets.
Therefore the other 4 bets are void and you get that refunded.
Maybe you had 4 selections (which is 12 bets).Now one non runner leaves 3 surviving selections.You know 3 horses is 6 bets,therefore you get 6 bets refunded.
Just work out live bets and deduct from original bets and that is the cash you will get refunded by the Tote.
