Catterick,or Catterick Bridge,is located in northern England,near Richmond,Yorkshire.

Catterick,in common with most U.K. courses,is left handed.

Catterick race all year round,and both flat and National Hunt fixtures are hosted.

The track is flat with slight undulations in nature but has very tight bends.


Flat course is just 1m 1 furlong in length,but the National Hunt course is a little bigger and wider.

You need an agile and handy horse here to combat those tight bends.


Many horses will not handle Catterick track,so always take interest in previous course winners - this applies to both the flat and National Hunt courses.

Catterick is an unusual and tricky track,and you should also follow jockeys who ride here regularly.

Only the 5 furlong races at Catterick are straight(slight bend),any distance above will take in bends.


Draw bias - not really conclusive,but high numbers may be best in the 5 furlong sprints.

Racing at this track since 1813,but first races recorded in the area since 1783.

Meetings are rarely abandoned here for water logging due to the gravel subsoil.

Ideal track to bring young children,with lots of entertainments to keep them happy.

Look out for themed days at Catterick Racecourse - like,Racing UK Day (free entry),Countryside Day and their big Easter Family Day.

Disabled race goers are well looked after here,with tarmacked viewing areas,disabled toilets,raised viewing ramps,and designated parking areas - and if you need a carer they can get in free.

You can bring food and alcohol (just for personal consumption) into the Course Enclosure,picnics are also allowed,again,the Course Enclosure only.

Easy to get to by car,but rail travelers are not so well served - nearest station is Darlington,which is some 15 miles from course.
