No flat racing at Bangor,just National Hunt (jumping) fixtures.


Like the majority of U.K. racetracks Bangor is a left handed course.

   Racing has taken place here since 1859.

Make sure you take a brolly or mac when going racing here - there is no covered grandstand at all (the grass bank by the winning post gives a great view of the track).

Point to Point fans have regular meetings hosted at Bangor racetrack - but they use different course which is right handed.

Sister track to Chester,and concessions are available for flat meetings there.

The course is one mile and 3 furlongs in length with long run in of 300 yards +.

Bends at Bangor are quite sharp and you will need an agile horse to negotiate those bends quickly.

Ideal for front runners who can accelerate around the bends at Bangor and sprint for winning line.

Bangor on Dee race regularly and have about 15 National Hunt meetings every year.

Disabled visitors to Bangor on Dee racecourse have their own viewing areas,and easy access to bars and restaurants,and hard floor parking areas.You will be charged full admission price,but if you need a carer,they can get in for free.

If you are lucky enough to use helicoptors as your mode of transport,then Bangor will allow you to land - on application.

Perhaps the greatest jockey of all time,Fred Archer,rode a winner here at Bangor aged 10.
